Coming of the Northern Pacific to the 1924 Fire

The Mountain View Hotel

The hotel was built in 1895 to accommodate visitors who came to shop, get married or divorced, register deeds, take part in court proceedings, to name a few reasons. It was built by Marcus Wright (and a few investors) and was known for some years as Wright Hotel. A bar was attached to it, known as Tammany Hall. When it became obvious that there was not enough business to turn a profit, the hotel was demolished just after the fire of 1924.
